About this course

Higher Project

The Level 2 Higher Project qualification allows students to discover the joys of independent learning, take responsibility for their own study and develop new life and study skills.

For the equivalent of half a GCSE, students get the opportunity to create, manage and present a project of their choice with support from a supervisor. You can choose to produce an extended piece of writing, create a product or even plan and run an event or performance.

The Level 2 Higher Project will develop and extend from one or more of the student's study areas and/or from an area of personal interest or activity outside their main programme of study. It will be based on a topic chosen by the student and agreed as appropriate by their supervisor and the Projects coordinator.

Students will receive 30 hours of taught skills and undertake 30 hours of extended autonomous work under supervision.

The Higher Project can be a great way of doing something you enjoy while getting a genuine qualification for it.

Extended Project

The Extended Project qualification allows students to discover the joys of independent learning, take responsibility for their own study and develop new life and study skills.

For the equivalent of an AS Level, students get the opportunity to create, manage and present a project of their choice with support from a supervisor. You can choose to produce an extended piece of writing, create a product or even plan and run an event or performance.

The Extended Qualification will develop and extend from one or more of the student's study areas and/or from an area of personal interest or activity outside their main programme of study. It will be based on a topic chosen by the student and agreed as appropriate by their supervisor and the Projects coordinator.

Students will receive 60 hours of taught skills and undertake 60 hours of extended autonomous work under supervision.

The Extended Project can be a great way of doing something you enjoy while getting a genuine qualification for it.
